Kong Volmer Ultimate is the largest indoor tournament in Denmark. It has been played each year in November since 1986. The tournament draws teams from all over northern Europe. In previous years teams from Norway, Sweden, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Great Britain and Denmark have participated.
Kong Volmer Ultimate is one of the first big tournaments of the indoors season – especially in recent years where the outdoors season has been expanded into October.
The 2010 edition of Kong Volmer Ultimate will bee the 25th edition of the tournament. It will take place in Farum Arena on 20-21 November. Farum Arena provides three excellent indoor fields, plenty of space for spectators, and accommodation will right next door.
Starting out in 1986 Kong Volmer Ultimate was played in one gym and with 8 teams participating in the open division. Later on the tournament was expanded to 16 teams in two gyms (5 km apart) and in 1994 a women’s division was finally added. Since 2002 the tournament has only been played in Farum Arena. The tournament has over the years attracted many of Europe’s top indoor teams and it has been won by teams from most of northern Europe.
