Todays recap is brought to you by Thomas Alsted and me! Enjoy…
After two confident victories yesterday, the mind was set on the first game against Frühsport. Two new players joined the list of active players; Kristoffer Thomas Buus (Sponsored by Thomas Alsted) and Steffen Mörch-Larsen. We continued playing the zone in defence with success. The half time score was 8 – 3 in our advantage. We scored another point due to the afterburner of Mads Lindskrog who caught a fast and rather low backhand from Henrik Thomesen. Lasse Gejl, Christoffer Sværke and Lars Beck all played some really nice handler offence, even though the overall concentration seemed to have dropped a few percent after halftime, and the score was now 9 – 5. In this game we suffered another injury, Jesper Bakkegaard’s toe was overstretched by a lazy Frühsport player who was trying to keep up with Jesper. We won the game 15 – 8, against the best opponent so far. Thomas Alsted was chosen to be the most awesome player of the match, mostly because they confused Thomas Alsted with Kristoffer Thomas Buus, as they are both such young and handsome guys. This was the first of three games of the Saturday gameplan.
Today’s second match were against 7 Schwaben. Consisting of both young and old players, they proved a seemingly tough challenge for our defence as they played our zone pretty well, but not well enough! Both teams followed each other up until 2 – 2, but after that we got three points in a row! They broke and we got at halftime with the score 8 – 3. Second half looked pretty much like first half, though we stepped up the tempo a notch! Both offence and defence played at levels only before seen at this years Weltmeisterschaft in Prague. In the end we took the victory, winning 15 to 6.
The last match of the day against Mor ho became a Ragnarok Show Off-Match. Even though they scored 7 points against our 15, spectators agreed that wup-ass was in the air. Dive-blocks from all over the Ragnarok line-up were seen. Mor ho gave some competition in the beginning up to 4 – 3, but then defence took three in a row, and we took the half time for 8 – 4. Both offence and defence played convincingly throughout the game.
Five games and five victories. We have won our pool and placement games are waiting tomorrow morning. The Saturday success were celebrated by “snitzel mit pommes und weissbier.”. Luckily we brought two cans of wup-ass the second one will be opened tomorrow and will bring us to Barcelona.
PS. It doesn’t rain :)
